ChillRun Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026 · Operated by Umin Labs · Contact: hello@uminlabs.com

ChillRun helps you decide when to run outdoors today. We aim to collect and store as little personal data as possible. This page explains what we collect, how we use it, and your controls.

Your location: we store a district, not your exact coordinates

Forecasts use areas several square kilometres wide, so address-level location is not needed. This means:

  • When you use GPS, your coordinates may be sent directly from your browser to the third-party reverse-geocoding service BigDataCloud to determine your district. We do not retain your exact coordinates or store them in our database.
  • You can decline location permission and search for a place manually. This uses built-in place data on your device and does not send your exact coordinates to a third party.
  • We store your district and its public representative point, not your actual location. Weather lookups use that representative point.

You can remove your saved location at any time from Settings.

What we collect

Login information. When you sign in with Google or an email code, we obtain your email address to identify your account. When email-code sign-in is enabled, Resend processes your address to send that code.

Your account settings: district, preferred running hours, comfort thresholds, and sun preference. We use them to calculate your personalized running guidance. We also retain the first time you save a non-default running preference.

We do not create a personal forecast or weather/AQI query history in our database. Short-lived weather-data caching may reduce repeated requests, but it does not create your personal forecast history. Outside the Vercel Web Analytics described below, we do not retain precise location history or raw GPS, device fingerprint, route or trip tracking, session replay, payment behavior, or advertising-tracking data.

Runs you log

When you save a Run, we store its date and start time, total distance, total duration, your selected feel (Easy, Okay, or Hard), and any optional note with your account. We also save a snapshot of the administrative location from your existing ChillRun location setting. Phase 01B1 does not collect a GPS route. Deleting a Run removes that Run record. Changing or clearing your current location does not rewrite the location stored on earlier Runs.

How we protect your data

Your settings are protected by Row Level Security so users can access only their own data. Data is stored on Supabase.

Analytics

ChillRun uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate product usage and improve the service. It may include visited pages or routes, general traffic patterns, referrer information where available, browser, device, and operating-system information, and coarse geographic information where provided by the analytics service. We do not use this analytics for advertising. To understand activation and return use, we also keep a minimal first-party account record of successful running-decision calendar days, first and last successful use on each day, and whether Today and/or Week was used.

Data sources

Weather, air quality, and weather-alert data come from public open-data sources, credited below.

Your controls

  • Edit your location: search for or re-locate a place at any time in Settings.
  • Clear your saved location from Settings.
  • To request deletion of your account and related data, contact us at the email below.
